Campaigning takes place before distribution of the solar lamps to achieve the following objectives:

  • Raise awareness among potential users (school children) and their guardians about the 1 Million SoUL project
  • Understand the benefits of solar lamp, such as affordable price, easy to use and maintain, locally serviceable, uninterrupted study during dark hours, and utilisation of renewable solar energy
  • Understand the usage of lamp, such as regular charging in sunlight and removing dust from the panel
  • Motivate to purchase the lamp

The distributors visit schools and villages for campaigning using various publicity materials such as SoUL display posters, pamphlets and banners. Lamp itself is taken as tool for night campaigning in villages for live demonstration of its benefits. Some IPs also use broadcast media such as newspapers (articles/advertisements) and radio to reach out to a large number of people.
